Will You Still Dance by Stuart C. Paul

Where did you come from?
How did you come to be?
From across a sea that has no name
Or a land shrouded, unknown
Visited only in dreams
And in the tales of sailors half-drowned in glory

You came in a deluge
Filling me until I burst
Your joy is an oasis
Your smile flows like a stream
You walk in the desert and the whole world blooms

Dancing together through the night
Bathing in your blue light
In silence the hours pass
Captured
Enraptured
Gaze into me and I will gaze into you
Two AM, Three AM, on past Four
And if our kisses could slow time
Sunrise would never come
And we could stay in this temple of bliss
Forevermore

We drink and drink
But the thirst remains
Will we drown
Or drain each other dry
Let me sustain you
Replenish you
And should the spring cease to flow
Before you go, grace me with the words
To end it as it began

Hold you in my arms

Imprint every moment
Memorize every touch
Feel my hand on your cheek
My breath on your neck
Let us write our names in the sand
And build a levee to stop the tide from washing it away
Put our hands on the bedrock and with ocher blue
Let this truth remain
That we were here
And we did love

All eyes upon you
Dance fairy dance
Roar lion roar
You are untamable
Not meant for a cage
And still the mind tries
I fling open the door
Let us run together, apart and back again

I am coming
Me towards you
With every passing mile
I wonder
Will you still dance
Will you still roar
Will you still love me
Hold me in your arms
Or will we visit that temple
Nevermore
