New Moon in Mrigashira | Aim with Your Heart – June 25, 2025 (Vedic Astrology)

A new moon arrives June 25, 2025, marking the start of a chapter that is bright and jovial, like the solstice before it.

In Vedic astrology, this moon falls in Gemini under the Mrigashira nakshatra, a star symbolized by the deer. In the West, this same moon is said to sit in Cancer. Both hold potent energies.

One reflects the mind and voice; the other to the heart and home. But beneath both frames, something deeper calls.

The Soul.

This New Moon feels like the release of an arrow. A turning point.

A chapter is closing, and another one opens.

It feels like now the time is ripe to effortlessly step into full authenticity, and choose the way forward with a clear heart and mind.

Mrigashira is the seeker’s star. Restless, curious, drawn to move and feel and wonder.

The deer is gentle. It is alert and aware. It listens. It knows when to move, and when to stay still.

This story reminds me of Artemis, the wild huntress, sovereign and untamed, who once turned a man into a stag for daring to gaze upon her while she bathed. Her arrows never missed. But she didn’t hunt for sport. She moved with a purpose rooted in instinct, in the devotion and duty to the soul.

She reminds us that discernment is devotion. That we don't need to chase what’s already meant for us. We just need to aim true and let go.

This is what the New Moon calls for now.

To loosen the grip of old identities and beliefs.
To stop proving, pleasing, or positioning.
To follow what truly matters.

You don’t have to figure it all out. Just move in the direction your inner arrow points. That’s enough.

And while Gemini stirs the mind, this moon invites us to drop beneath the surface of conscious awareness. And let the water settle.

Ask yourself, "If I stand by my heart and soul, what does that look like? What kind of expansion is my soul yearning for?"

Here are some recommendations and rituals for the days ahead:

– Breathe: Let your breath lead. Try a gentle pranayama or even just 10 slow conscious breaths before bed. Let air move through you. Or join the 40-Day Challenge with the Drishti CollectiveLearn a powerful daily kriya and weave in our bonus daily tea sadhana too.

– Write: Reflect on what you’re ready to think differently about. Where you feel your heart directing you. What’s seeking you.

– Listen to the call. To the deeper “yes” in your body. Let it speak.

– Aim True: Set one small intention that feels aligned with what matters most. Even if you don’t know why yet. Trust that more will reveal itself when you act.

Summer is here, calling us into full bloom.
To live with honesty, and return to what the soul has always known.

Like the deer, and like Artemis, we move with grace,
following the path unfolding before us in deep devotion.
