The Law of Polarity from Micro to Macro
How ‘Acceptance’ is the key to Dismantling Resistance
The Law of Polarity is one of the fundamental laws of the universe, and it applies to everything, from the tiniest subatomic particles to the largest galaxies. At its most basic level, the Law of Polarity states that everything has an opposite, and these opposites are complementary, meaning they work together to create balance and harmony.
Starting with energy, we know that there is positive and negative. These polarizing energies work together, and we can see how they exist together in our everyday lives, such as light and dark, day and night, hot and cold. Certain things happen at night versus the day, and we experience different environments, whether it’s hot or cold.
Taking this concept to the next level, we can apply it to our relationships.
In relationships, there is a polarity between feminine and masculine energies, not just between man and woman, but also between the archetypes of femininity and masculinity themselves. Tony Robbins talks about the Law of Polarity and how it works in relationships. When the feminine feels unsafe, there is an opposite reaction, and she begins to become controlling, less open, less emotional, wanting to take the reins. The masculine, feeling controlled, not trusted, and questioned, will begin to lose direction, a lack of will, and the ability to make decisions. This depolarization happens when the environment does not allow natural energy to be expressed. We can bring this back to the biological level with plants, for example. Certain plants need certain conditions to survive, or it needs an ample amount of space to thrive. So, we can accept that, and we can bring it back to our relationships. Depolarization is what’s happening when the relationship is falling apart. It is not quite working. It could work in a volatile way, but it’s not joyous.
When we stop fixating on something, it comes to us with ease. The more we force, the more we grip, the more it falls, right? Like gripping sand, watch how it seeps out the tighter you grip. The more you confine your child, partner, friend, or loved one into a way of being that YOU want, the more likely it’ll escape you.
Like Newton’s third law of motion: for every action, there is an equal, an opposite reaction.
This concept also applies to our society and politics. There is right and left, and we can see how the conservative side is a good example of masculine structure, conserving traditions, upholding certain values, and very direct cardinal energy. The left, on the other hand, is very open-minded, free-spirited, and soft and understanding. When the right and left depolarize, which is what we’re seeing today, the relationship is no longer working, and there’s a clash. We can’t separate unless there’s complete dismantling happening. To make it work, there has to be a compromise and acceptance of roles, values, and the understanding that each side has its own part to play together.
At the micro level, the resting state of neurons in our brain is characterized by the presence of negative ions, while positive ions surround them with the potential for action. The neurons receive signals that prompt the flow of energy and encourage interaction between the ions, ultimately leading to the stimulation of enough energy and momentum to trigger an action. This process facilitates the release and transport of neurotransmitters in the brain, which give rise to the feelings we experience.
Here, we can see that productive cycles of action are facilitated through the “working-together” of opposites.
Taking it back to a macro level, we can talk about karma and the concept of law and punishment. The idea of law and punishment comes from fear. When there’s injustice, we set out punishments that people have to abide by. The Law of Polarity tells us that there’s always an opposite to everything, and we can see this in the concept of karma. “What goes around, comes around.” The golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, right? Why is this the golden rule? Because if we are truly all one, if we believe that, then we would never, we could never, treat anyone otherwise. We would be doing it to ourselves. Sometimes we believe we can escape punishment, or control the outcome, but there is no escaping what we do to ourselves or one another. The gripping is you, and the release comes from you, too.
In the 3D reality, as we know it, you can indeed escape the law, but you cannot escape divine law. How does this work? If we believe we are one, just as we see positive and negative ions working within one nucleus, within on neuron, we see how it’s always working together, with the law of polarity. The negative and positive are always balancing each other out. They wouldn’t exist without one another.
No matter what, what we do will be done to us. What we are, we will experience the opposite and vice versa. Both, is always happening. The feminine and Masculine exist within ourselves, and it expresses itself in different ways. It accepts what is. My left hand is not trying to be my right hand…why? Because it is what it is, and it expresses itself the way it wills and wants. It’s society that pressures it to do otherwise, or do as expected. This is what we, as a society, have to work with: acceptance. If we can accept these micro truths that are easy to witness and “prove,” we can begin to accept the same on a macro level.
Here we are, experiencing two sides of one coin, spinning on its axis, like our world, magnetizing and circling around the sun, within a galaxy, circling another, and another. We cannot end or change the circumstances, especially for one another. Each individual must choose the way for themselves. This begins with acceptance. “Control is a low-level awareness.” Controlling those who do what we don’t like is the same as they’re exemplifying. It’s a paradox.
“The law of karma is only a problem to micro man because he had more hate or negative thoughts and actions than positive, loving ones. At the macro level, people live by the law of love, which does not include penance. Its basis is joyous acceptance of whatever is, as perfectly chosen by each soul for its own development.” — Thea Alexander, 2150 A.D.
It can seem naive to believe that acceptance is the answer to dismantling resistance…
But, how are people willing to believe in the law of attraction and manifestation, so easily? It can be a difficult practice to integrate at first, but we try, because it is self-serving. It can help us reach the outcome we desire. So, we try. You’ll find it works, because it’s not an effort, but an acceptance, a knowing. If we can accept the micro level of polarity, that things are working perfectly in accordance with their nature, in the magnetic way that they’ve been programmed to operate, then we can accept it and not work against life as it is playing out — just as it should.
Accepting things as they are allows proactive solutions to arise versus more damage, trauma, and destruction. By understanding how opposites work together, we can live in greater harmony with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
